Thanks to Etz Chaim, Sarah and Jared Scheff have discovered Jewish wisdom to help them build a happy home.
Sarah and Jared both grew up involved in the Baltimore-area Jewish community. They met in a Conservative movement youth group, and later reconnected through JCC Maccabi Games. When Sarah and Jared decided to get married, they knew they wanted to raise a Jewish family.
Friends and colleagues had recommended Etz Chaim, and Sarah and Jared started attending Sam and Olivia Volkin’s group for young couples. Over dinner, the group meets to discuss Jewish perspectives on marriage, relationships, and family.
“It’s strengthened our relationship,” Jared says. Not only does the group help the couple navigate marriage, parenthood, and everyday life with the support of Jewish values, but it has also introduced the Scheffs to other young Jewish couples who can relate to their experiences. “I’m really glad we got involved in Etz Chaim,” Jared continues, “and I can see us staying involved for a long time.”
